Tsutenkaku Tower

ABOUT

About this spot

Known as the "Eiffel Tower of Naniwa" (Osaka's old name), Tsutenkaku is the symbol tower at the heart of the Shinsekai district. From the observation deck, about 87.5 meters above ground, you can enjoy a 360-degree panorama of Osaka's cityscape. Enthroned on the golden observatory floor is Billiken, a lucky god said to bring good fortune if you rub the soles of his feet. Be sure to make a wish and give them a touch. A recent hit is the TOWER SLIDER, a giant 60-meter slide that is a must for thrill seekers. And at the Tenbo Paradise open-air observation deck, 94.5 meters above ground, you can feel the wind rush past and enjoy a tremendous sense of openness. At the foot of the tower, the Shinsekai area is lined with kushikatsu restaurants and has a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere. After enjoying Tsutenkaku, we recommend soaking up the lively working-class culture of the neighborhood. Whether you are traveling with family, friends, or on your own, it is a classic sightseeing spot where you can feel the energy of Osaka.
