ABOUT
About this spot
Okinawa World in Nanjo City, southern Okinawa, is a comprehensive tourist facility where you can enjoy Okinawa's charms from many angles. The main highlight is the limestone cave "Gyokusendo," formed over about 300,000 years. With a total length of about 5,000 m (890 m of it open to the public), the cave boasts one of the largest scales and finest beauty in Japan, and its mysterious blue pools and countless stalagmites overwhelm visitors. On the surface stretches the "Ryukyu Kingdom Village," with old houses over 100 years old relocated here, where you can stroll streets that feel like traveling back to the Ryukyu Kingdom era. Here you can actually try traditional crafts such as Ryukyu glass, bingata dyeing, and weaving, and enjoy making your own original souvenir. The daily "Super Eisa" performance is also a must-see. The bold sound of drums and the dynamic dance let you feel Okinawa's fiery spirit with all five senses. With thrilling shows at the Habu Museum Park and the tropical fruit garden where southern fruits ripen, it is a place where family and friends can spend a full day without getting bored.
