Beloved as a landmark of Sapporo, the "Sapporo TV Tower" is a historic tower that has watched over the city's development since its completion in 1956. Located at the starting point of Odori Park, it is also very convenient as a sightseeing base. From the observation deck about 90 meters above ground, you can see Sapporo's cityscape in 360 degrees. The view to the west, where Odori Park stretches in a straight line, is especially spectacular. During the "Sapporo Snow Festival" and "White Illumination" in winter, a fantastical scene unfolds as if a jewel box had been turned over. Inside the facility, there are many enjoyable points for families, couples, and friends, such as the "Scary Window (Kowaso~)," a slanted window that lets you peer straight down, and a shrine themed around the popular unofficial character "TV Tou-san." At night, the tower itself is lit up, and its electronic clock brightens the night city. It is a recommended spot whether you are gazing at the view leisurely on a solo trip or visiting for an anniversary with someone special.
