ABOUT

About this spot

Taking advantage of its vast grounds of over 50 hectares, Tama Zoological Park is known for its "open enclosures," where animals live separated not by cages but by deep moats and similar barriers. The park is divided into four areas: the Asian Section, the African Section, the Australian Section, and the Insect Garden, where you can see animals in dynamic, nearly wild states. The Lion Bus, which lets you observe free-roaming lions up close, is an action-packed popular attraction, but as of September 2026 the lion exhibit and Lion Bus operations are suspended. Please check the official website for the resumption date. The large greenhouse of the Insect Ecology Garden, where colorful butterflies flutter all year round, is also recommended as a photo spot for dreamy pictures. The terrain is extremely vast and hilly, so comfortable shoes such as sneakers are a must. Whether for a family holiday, a stroll with friends, or time alone to be soothed by rich nature, it offers a luxurious day.
