ABOUT

About this spot

Korankei Gorge in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, is known as the Tokai region's leading autumn foliage spot. About 4,000 maple trees are planted along the Tomoe River, and in November, at peak color, the whole mountain is dyed fiery red and yellow in an overwhelming spectacle. The contrast of the vermilion Taigetsu Bridge with the autumn leaves is especially beautiful and makes a superb photo spot. The night illumination held during the Autumn Leaves Festival is also a must-see. The golden-lit trees reflected on the river surface make a magical scene, ideal for creating memories on a date or family trip. Nearby are also the Asuke townscape, which retains the atmosphere of the Edo period, and Sanshu Asuke Yashiki, where you can see and try traditional handicrafts, letting you touch the area's history and culture as you stroll. Spend a special holiday feeling the energy of nature and the scent of history.
