ABOUT

About this spot

The Mt. Yahiko Ropeway offers an aerial journey from the base station near Yahiko Shrine, one of Niigata's leading power spots, to the summit of Mt. Yahiko, which stands 634 meters tall, the same as Tokyo Skytree. As the gondola climbs, the vast Echigo Plain spreads out before you like a patchwork, and once you arrive at the summit, you can see the sparkling blue Sea of Japan on the other side, with Sado Island floating beyond. The 360-degree panorama is truly breathtaking. You can feel the beauty of every season with all five senses: cherry blossoms and fresh greenery in spring, refreshing breezes in summer, mountainsides dyed red and yellow in autumn, and enchanting snowy scenery in winter. Near the summit, there are also the rotating observation tower "Panorama Tower" and an observation restaurant, so it is recommended for any occasion, whether a fun family lunch, a romantic date with your partner, or a quiet moment alone enjoying the view. Combine it with a visit to Yahiko Shrine and enjoy the best of Niigata's natural beauty.
