ABOUT
About this spot
The National Museum of Japanese History, commonly called "Rekihaku," is a leading Japanese history museum located within the vast Sakura Castle Ruins Park. The exhibition rooms are divided into Rooms 1 to 6, introducing Japanese history from primitive and ancient times to the present, along with "folklore" rooted in Japanese life, by theme. Particularly noteworthy are the life-size reconstructed architectural models and the many finely crafted dioramas. Landscapes and townscapes of the time spread out before your eyes, so you can enjoy it visually even without specialist knowledge of history, with a feeling as if time traveling. It is ideal for a weekend outing, whether for children's learning with a family or for history fans to deepen their knowledge over a full day. The adjoining Sakura Castle Ruins Park is also beautiful with the seasons, so a relaxing time in the park after your visit is also recommended. Why not spend a luxurious holiday touching the roots of Japan in a quiet environment?
