ABOUT

About this spot

Kujukuri Beach is a vast arc-shaped coastline about 66 km long, stretching from Cape Gyobu in Asahi City to Cape Taito in Isumi City in Chiba Prefecture. Selected as one of the 100 Landscapes of Japan and one of Japan's 100 Best White Sand and Green Pine Coasts, it offers spectacular sunrises rising from an unobstructed horizon. In summer, many swimming beaches open and bustle with families and couples. With quality waves rolling in throughout the year, it is also world-famous as a surfing mecca. The surrounding area has plenty of gourmet spots where you can taste freshly caught clams and sardines, and the signature "grilled clams" are not to be missed. It is also a popular drive course, and from the Kujukuri Toll Road (nicknamed the "Nami-nori Road," or Surfing Road) running along the coast, you can enjoy open scenery while feeling the sea breeze. With easy access from central Tokyo, it is ideal for day trips to enjoy nature or solo trips to spend leisurely time. Surrounded by the sound of waves, take a moment to forget everyday life and refresh.
