ABOUT

About this spot

Chiba Port Tower was built to commemorate Chiba Prefecture's population passing 5 million, and is the symbol of Chiba Port. Standing 125.15 meters tall, its observation floor offers a grand panorama taking in the Makuhari New Urban Center and the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line, and on clear days even Mt. Fuji and Tokyo Skytree. The scenery from dusk into the night is especially wonderful, with factory night views and city lights that have been certified as a Japan Night View Heritage. The second-floor observation floor is certified as a "Sanctuary of Lovers" as the Sunset Promenade, and has plenty of photo spots popular with couples, including an area for hanging padlocks to pledge love. On the first floor, the Port Shop sells Chiba Prefecture specialties and is ideal for souvenirs. You can also stroll around the surrounding Port Park, making this a spot where people of all ages, from families on weekends to couples and solo travelers seeking refreshment, can rediscover the charms of Chiba.
