ABOUT
About this spot
The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, connecting Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, and Awaji Island, is one of the world's largest suspension bridges, recognized by Guinness World Records. This bridge of overwhelming scale is a tourist spot perfect for weekend drives and walks. Especially recommended is the "Maiko Marine Promenade," installed inside the bridge on the Kobe side. On this walkway located about 47 m above the sea, you can try the thrilling "47 m Log Bridge over the Sea" (glass floor) and feel as if you are walking above the sea. From the observation lounge, you can leisurely look out over the calm Seto Inland Sea and the ships passing by. Do not miss the night lighting, the "Pearl Illumination," either. The colors change with the season and time of day, and the beautiful glow like a string of pearls illuminates the night sea fantastically. From families to couples to solo trips by camera lovers, there is scenery here that moves everyone who visits.
