ABOUT
About this spot
The Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium, located at Nagoya Port, is one of Japan's largest aquariums, built around two themes in its North and South Buildings. The North Building, themed 'A Journey of 3.5 Billion Years,' houses large marine mammals such as orcas, bottlenose dolphins and belugas. The dolphin performance in the main pool, one of Japan's largest, is a must-see, sure to overwhelm you with its dynamism and power. Through the underwater viewing windows, you can watch them play underwater up close. The South Building, meanwhile, is themed 'A Journey to Antarctica.' Organized to take you through five water zones, from Japan's seas to the deep sea and the Antarctic Ocean, it lets you carefully observe colorful tropical fish, mysterious jellyfish and adorable penguins. The sardine tornado is also a highlight. The spacious interior is all-weather, so you can enjoy it even on rainy days. It is a classic Nagoya sightseeing spot, ideal for weekend family trips, adults seeking healing, and dates.
