ABOUT
About this spot
"Biwako Terrace," a popular spot representing Shiga Prefecture, is an observation facility with a grand panorama from the 1,100-meter summit. Take the ropeway straight to the top and a spectacular view of Lake Biwa, Japan's largest lake, stretching north to south unfolds. At "The Main," the "Grand Terrace" with its three-tiered wooden decks creates an infinity-like space where a blue water basin melts into the sky and the lake. Relax with a carefully made drink at the cafe with friends or a loved one, or quietly gaze at the majestic nature alone, and enjoy a luxurious time that makes you forget daily life. From "Cafe 360" at the even higher Horaizan summit, you can enjoy a 360-degree view from an arched deck. Activities such as athletics and zip lines are also available nearby, so everyone from families to adults can have fun all day. It is a classic Shiga sightseeing spot that is not to be missed, where the beauty of Lake Biwa, which changes with the seasons, meets a refined, luxurious space.
