Kobe Animal Kingdom is a park on Port Island themed on the "coexistence of flowers, animals, and people." Much of the park is covered by roofs, making it an all-weather facility where you can spend a comfortable time without worrying about the weather. Its greatest feature is how astonishingly close you get to the animals. Exhibits with fences and cages removed as much as possible let you observe the lives of rare animals such as the shoebill, red panda, and sand cat up close. Feeding capybaras and the "Wings" bird performance, in which birds swoop just over your head, are so thrilling that both children and adults cannot help but gasp. The vast grounds are full of highlights, including the Inside Park, where seasonal flowers bloom, and the open and airy Outside Park. It is an ideal spot for a weekend family trip, a date, or a relaxing time alone with nature. With access only about 14 minutes from Sannomiya by Port Liner, it is also very convenient. Why not forget everyday life and enjoy a soothing time feeling the breath of living creatures?
