ABOUT
About this spot
Neo Park Okinawa in Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture, is one of Japan's largest interactive zoos, using a "flying cage" format. As you walk through giant cages recreating the world's tropical regions, such as Central and South America, Africa and Oceania, free-roaming birds fly about and even come right up to your feet in a surprising scene. The most popular attraction is the "Okinawa Light Railway," a recreation of the railway that once ran in Okinawa. Riding a locomotive along the 1.2 km course while listening to a guide and observing the animals is enjoyable for adults and children alike. At the "Petting Plaza" you can also get up close with popular animals such as capybaras and red pandas. The landscape, which makes the most of the surrounding nature, feels like an adventure in the jungle. It is recommended for family trips, solo travelers with a camera, and couples wanting a relaxed taste of the extraordinary. Come and experience the lively animals under Okinawa's bountiful sun.
