ABOUT
About this spot
Located in Onna Village, Manzamo is a classic sightseeing spot that is worth a stop on any visit to Okinawa. Its name comes from the 18th-century Ryukyuan king Sho Kei, who praised it as a "field large enough to seat ten thousand people." The top highlight is the rock formation shaped like an elephant's trunk, sculpted by waves over a long period of time. Below the sheer cliffs spreads a highly transparent emerald green sea, and the waves crashing in are full of power. New facilities opened in 2020, with a good selection of souvenir shops and eateries. From the observation deck you get a full view of Manzamo, and at dusk in particular you can enjoy a beautiful sunset over the East China Sea. The promenade is neatly paved, so families, couples and solo travelers can all stroll with peace of mind. Why not feel Okinawa's rich nature and Ryukyuan history while capturing a memorable photo at a superb photo spot?
