ABOUT
About this spot
Kabira Bay is absolutely not to be missed when visiting Ishigaki Island. Having earned the top three-star rating from a world-famous guidebook, its biggest feature is the color of the sea that changes by the moment. The emerald green gradation known as "Kabira Blue" gives new inspiration every time you see it. Swimming is prohibited because of the very fast tidal currents, but on a glass-bottom boat you can observe colorful coral reefs and tropical fish up close. Since the boat has a glass bottom, you can easily enjoy a beautiful underwater stroll while fully clothed. It is especially popular with families with children and with couples who want to spend a relaxed time. The panoramic view from the hilltop observation deck is truly photogenic. Okinawan-style cafes and souvenir shops are scattered around, making it ideal for a drive break or a stroll. Be sure to experience in person the miraculous beauty created by the rich nature of Ishigaki Island.
