About this spot
Mitsumine Shrine, surrounded by deep mountains in Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture, is located about 1,100 meters above sea level and is said to be the Kanto region's strongest power spot. First to catch the eye are the "Mitsu Torii," rare even nationwide, and the statues of "wolves (Oinu-sama)" enshrined as divine messengers in place of guardian lion-dogs. Proceeding through the grounds with a sacred atmosphere, the worship hall with colorful, intricate carvings appears, overwhelming you with its solemn presence. The "dragon" that appears when water is poured on the stone pavement beside the worship hall is considered auspicious and a notable point drawing many worshippers. When the weather conditions are right, you can also see the mystical "sea of clouds" spreading below, a spectacular view worthy of being called a heavenly sacred realm. It is an ideal place for quiet reflection alone as well as for refreshing mind and body in great nature with friends or family.
