Tobu Zoo is a hybrid leisure facility, rare even in Japan, that combines a zoo, an amusement park, and a pool (summer only) on a vast site. In the zoo area, about 120 species and 1,200 animals are kept, including the "white tiger," a rarity in Japan. Powerful lions, adorable penguin displays, and corners where you can interact with animals let everyone from children to adults enjoy meeting living creatures. The amusement park area offers a wide range, from thrill rides such as the wooden coaster "Regina II" that glides over water and the refreshing "Kawasemi," to character attractions that small children can enjoy. In winter, the "Winter Illumination" lights up the vast grounds, and the glittering fantastical amusement park and night zoo are popular as a date spot. Whether making family memories, spending an active holiday with friends, or going on a date, it is one of Saitama's leading tourist spots where you can play all day in any setting.
