For a weekend refresh with family or friends, Saitama City's Osaki Park is a great choice. Its biggest draw is the Children's Zoo, which has free admission. You can observe about 40 species of animals up close, including flamingos, sheep, goats, guinea pigs, and rabbits, and enjoy hands-on contact with them. For children who want to play to their heart's content, the playground equipment unique to such a spacious park is hugely popular. On the wide lawn, many families can be seen spreading out lunch boxes for a picnic. Adults who prefer a quiet stroll will find the adjacent Horticultural Botanical Garden ideal, with beautiful flowers to enjoy in every season. During summer vacation you can also cool off at the Jabu-jabu Pond (splash pond). Parking is available, so access by car is easy.
