Ski Jam Katsuyama (now JAM Fukui Katsuyama Mountain Resort) in Katsuyama, Fukui Prefecture, is a full-fledged snow resort on one of the largest scales in western Japan. Its slopes on Mt. Hoonji boast an overwhelming scale, with a vertical drop of 710 m and a longest run of 5,800 m. With 12 courses in all, from gentle runs where beginners can ski with confidence to ungroomed areas that will impress advanced skiers, everyone can enjoy a full day. The appeal goes beyond winter sports. The resort has its own natural hot spring, "Hoonji Onsen Sasayuri," where the open-air bath offers mountain views. In the green season, outdoor facilities such as the dinosaur-themed "DINO LAND" and a BBQ garden make it a complex leisure destination that families and friends can enjoy all year round.
