ABOUT
About this spot
Heidi's Village, surrounded by the beautiful nature of Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, is a theme park recreating the Swiss village that is the setting of the anime Heidi, Girl of the Alps. As soon as you step inside, stone buildings and beautiful gardens spread out, making you feel as if you are traveling in Europe. The top highlight is the "230 m Rose Corridor," one of the longest in Japan. In early summer thousands of roses bloom, creating a fantastical landscape with a sweet fragrance. From the panoramic observation deck in the park, on a clear day you can enjoy a grand panorama of Mt. Fuji, the Southern Alps, and the Yatsugatake mountains. Dining is also excellent, with a restaurant serving authentic cheese fondue and a bakery with homemade bread both popular. In winter beautiful illuminations color the park, making it a spot adults and children alike can enjoy all year round. Why not spend a soul-soothing moment away from daily life?
