ABOUT
About this spot
Tenkaiho, located in the center of the Tawaragaura Peninsula southwest of Sasebo's city center, is hugely popular as a viewpoint with stunning views of the Kujukushima (99 Islands). From the observatory, you can enjoy a 180-degree panorama of the islands spread out below and the intricate ria coastline. The view at dusk is especially wonderful, as the colors of the sky and sea change moment by moment. The large park below the observatory also offers seasonal flowers. From late March to early April, about 150,000 rape blossom plants bloom, and from mid to late October, about 150,000 cosmos plants burst into color, creating a striking contrast with the blue sea that is sure to look great on social media. With walking paths, restrooms, and parking, it is ideal for families, dates, or a solo refresh. Feel the energy of nature and enjoy a soothing moment here.
