ABOUT

About this spot

Located in Takayama Village, Gunma Prefecture, "Lockheart Castle" is a historic structure: a genuine stone castle built in Scotland in 1829, relocated and restored here. On its vast 100,000-square-meter grounds, a stone church, shops, and restaurants are scattered around the stately castle, recreating a beautiful medieval European townscape. In the popular "Princess Experience," you can choose your favorite from hundreds of gorgeous dresses and have your photo taken with the castle as a backdrop, making for a perfect memory for girls' trips and couples. It is also certified as a Sanctuary of Lovers, with a spot for hanging heart-shaped ema wooden plaques and the 20-meter-high "Bell of Hope," among many attractions for visiting with someone special. Inside the castle, the World Santa Museum and a teddy bear collection are also on display, making this a recommended sightseeing spot where everyone from children to seniors can enjoy an elegant, out-of-the-ordinary time.
