ABOUT
About this spot
Looking for a weekend breather with a dazzling burst of color? Tsutsujigaoka Park in Tatebayashi City is known as a historic azalea garden and is designated a National Place of Scenic Beauty. The main highlight is the Azalea Festival, held every year from early April to early May. About 10,000 azalea plants of around 100 varieties grow in the park, including "famous old trees" over 800 years old, handed down since the Muromachi period, that bloom in red, pink, and white. The paths that wind through tunnels of flowers make a truly spectacular photo spot. The park faces the beautiful Lake Jonuma, where you can feel the richness of nature throughout the year, with lotus flowers in early summer and visiting swans in winter. The grounds are well maintained and easy to walk, so it can be enjoyed by a wide range of visitors, from families with small children to seniors who want a leisurely stroll and photography enthusiasts. A picnic on the wide lawn is also recommended. Escape the bustle of the city and come spend a luxurious time experiencing the seasons with all five senses.
