ABOUT
About this spot
This cultural facility covers everything about the Yosakoi Festival, the fiery celebration that represents Kochi Prefecture. Inside, you can learn the history of the festival from its birth to the present, and see up close the colorful costumes each team creates with great ingenuity, as well as the lineage of the "naruko" clappers that have changed form over time. Particularly recommended is the "Yosakoi Theater." The festival-like dance footage shown on a large screen conveys the excitement of the festival just as it is. There is also an experience corner where you can learn to dance while holding naruko, so both adults and children can enjoy touching Kochi's traditional culture. Located within walking distance of the classic sightseeing spot Harimaya Bridge and with free admission, it is a very convenient place to drop in during a family trip or between solo travels. Enjoy the history and culture with all five senses in a space packed with Kochi's passion.
