ABOUT
About this spot
Heiwadai Park, on a hill in the northwest of Miyazaki City, is a relaxing spot loved by locals and tourists alike, where beautiful nature meets historic symbols. The park's symbol, the Tower of Peace (Hakko no Motohashira), is a solid stone tower about 37 meters high whose overwhelming presence captures the eye. In the plaza in front of the tower, clapping your hands produces a curious "bin" echo, a feature well worth trying when you visit. In the tree-lined Haniwa Garden stand about 400 replicas of haniwa clay figures excavated from burial mounds across Japan, offering a stroll full of the romance of ancient times. The park also has lush walking paths and an observation deck overlooking the city of Miyazaki, making it ideal for hiking and family picnics. An athletic playground and a rest house are also on site, so everyone from children to adults can spend a leisurely day here. Why not enjoy a calming time touching history and nature in the Miyazaki breeze?
