The Chirihama Nagisa Driveway is a rare tourist spot, even by world standards, where you can "drive an ordinary car on a sandy beach." Along about 8 km of coastline, the sand grains are extremely fine and firmly packed with seawater, so you can drive without sinking even without a 4WD. Driving with the blue sea close by gives an overwhelming sense of openness that makes you forget everyday life. The recommended time is especially dusk. The sight of the sunset over the Sea of Japan dyeing the sandy beach and water's edge golden is spectacular enough to have been selected as one of "Japan's 100 Best Beaches." Whether a family drive, a road trip with friends, or a solo tour, it will become a wonderful memory in any situation. In summer it is also crowded with swimmers, and you can enjoy the unique luxury of parking at the water's edge and walking straight into the sea. If you visit the Noto area, it is an experiential scenic spot you should not miss.
