ABOUT
About this spot
Located in the center of Kanazawa, the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art is a mecca of contemporary art, characterized by its circular glass building. With walls fully made of glass, its open design lets you see the outside from anywhere in the building and warmly welcomes visitors. The biggest highlight is Leandro Erlich's work "The Swimming Pool." The strange sight of people appearing to be beneath the water's surface is a photo spot that has been the talk of social media. The museum is divided into an "Exhibition Zone" and an "Exchange Zone," and even the free Exchange Zone alone has plenty to see, such as outdoor sculptures and a library. Being an indoor facility, you can enjoy it regardless of weather, and it is ideal both for quietly appreciating art alone and for enjoying hands-on art with family and friends. Within walking distance of Kenroku-en Garden and Kanazawa Castle Park, it is a classic spot indispensable to any Kanazawa sightseeing plan.
