ABOUT
About this spot
Orizuru Tower is a landmark standing right next to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Its biggest attraction is the top-floor observation space, "Hiroshima Hill." From this open, atrium-style space made lavishly with wood, you can look down on the World Heritage Atomic Bomb Dome, and on clear days see as far as Mt. Misen on Miyajima. The "Orizuru Wall" on the side of the building is a unique participatory attraction where you drop an "orizuru" that you have folded with a prayer for peace into a transparent wall that continues to the ground. The sight of everyone's prayers piling up gives you an emotion that you can only feel here. On the first floor there are a shop with local specialties from across Hiroshima Prefecture and a cafe, perfect for a rest during sightseeing or for souvenir shopping. In addition, the spiral slope "Sanpozaka" running from the first floor to the rooftop has playful features on each floor, so adults and children alike can enjoy strolling along it. Why not spend a special moment here, where history, the future and wishes for peace intersect?
