ABOUT

About this spot

Mt. Sarakura in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, is known for its grand 360-degree panorama over the city from 622 meters above sea level. The night view is particularly beautiful, among the best in Japan, and it has been selected as one of the "New Three Great Night Views of Japan," its glitter so brilliant that it is called the "10 billion dollar night view." From the foot to the summit, you can easily travel by connecting one of western Japan's longest cable cars with a fully glass-walled slope car. The ever-changing views from the car windows are part of the fun. Around the summit observation deck is the "Sky Dome," which is lit up on weekends to create a romantic atmosphere. In addition to its great popularity as a date spot, hiking trails are well maintained, so during the day it is busy with families and solo travelers who come to hike. Overlooking the cityscape of Kitakyushu, Hibikinada Sea, and Dokai Bay, it is a landmark that brings new inspiration no matter how many times you visit.
