ABOUT

About this spot

Though very close to Dotonbori in the bustling Minami district, "Hozenji Yokocho" is a place that helps you forget the city's noise the moment you step in. The two alleys, about 80 meters long and 3 meters wide, are paved with atmospheric stones, lined with long-established kappo restaurants, kushikatsu shops, okonomiyaki shops, and more. At night the lanterns are lit, and an even more fantastical, Showa-retro atmosphere fills the air. At "Hozenji Temple" in the center of the alley, the "Mizukake Fudoson" statue, which people douse with water while praying for business prosperity and good relationships, is famous. The Fudo statue, covered in beautiful moss after many years, is a must-see. After worship, the classic course is to enjoy a sweet moment with the famous "Meoto Zenzai" (sweet red bean soup). It is ideal for meals with friends, dates, and quiet solo strolls. Why not spend a special moment in this place where you can feel Osaka's warmth and history?
