Yuzawa Kogen Ski Resort offers superb access, within walking distance of Echigo-Yuzawa Station. Its signature feature is the 166-passenger ropeway, among the largest in the world, which whisks you from the hot spring town up to a plateau at 1,000 meters in one go. In winter, its varied courses appeal to everyone from beginners to experts. The summit area opens up panoramas of the Echigo Sanzan and the Tanigawa mountain range, so you can enjoy skiing and snowboarding in a superb setting. At the base lies Nunoba Snow Land, where sledding and snow play make it ideal for family trips with small children. In the green season (late April to around November), on the other hand, it bustles as a cool summer retreat with refreshing breezes. It is packed with activities that grown-ups and kids alike will love, including a 706-meter summer bobsled, a zip line and mini golf. A stroll through "Alp no Sato," where alpine plants bloom, and time spent at the café above the clouds taking in the views make for a supreme, soothing escape from everyday life. Enjoy the scenery quietly on a solo trip, or play actively with friends. It is a signature sightseeing spot of the Yuzawa area where you can experience Niigata's nature through all four seasons.
