ABOUT

About this spot

Kuju Flower Park lies on the Kuju Plateau, 850 meters above sea level and overlooking the majestic Kuju mountain range, in Taketa City, Oita Prefecture. On its vast grounds of about 220,000 square meters, about 5 million flowers of around 500 types bloom from spring to autumn. The park is divided into several areas, and you can enjoy entirely different colors depending on the time of year, such as tulips and nemophila in spring, lavender in summer, and cosmos and marigolds in autumn. The panoramic view of the vast flower fields against the Kuju mountain range in particular is stunning and known as one of Kyushu's top photo spots. Between strolls, you can relax at a restaurant using fresh local ingredients, a workshop for dried flower experiences, and a cafe serving highland soft-serve ice cream. It is a spot to feel nature with all five senses, ideal for creating family memories, dates with someone special, or solo trips to refresh from daily life. Enjoy the colorful world of flowers to your heart's content, feeling the refreshing highland breeze.
