ABOUT

About this spot

Located at an elevation of 777 meters, the "Kokonoe Yume Otsuribashi" (Kokonoe 'Dream' Grand Suspension Bridge) is one of Japan's largest pedestrian-only suspension bridges, measuring 390 meters long and 173 meters high. From the bridge you can look down on the "Shindo Falls (Odaki and Medaki)," one of "Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls," and the Naruko River Gorge with its primeval forest, enjoying the thrill and wonder of strolling through the air. In the autumn foliage season in particular, the whole gorge is vividly colored, and its beauty is breathtaking. It is a popular spot where you can directly feel the 173-meter height. Beyond the bridge are an observation plaza and shops where you can enjoy local specialties and food. Thanks to its barrier-free design, everyone from families with small children to seniors can enjoy the grand panoramic views with peace of mind, making it a classic must-see in Kokonoe sightseeing.
