ABOUT

About this spot

Mt. Washu, in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, is a scenic spot representing the Setonaikai National Park. From the observation decks near the 133-meter summit, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the large and small islands floating in Bisan Seto and the massive Seto Ohashi Bridge linking Honshu and Shikoku. Well-maintained walking trails make the route from the first and second observation decks to the summit (Shushuho) a pleasant hiking course. Sunset is especially stunning, as the sun sinking between the islands paints the sea golden, a sight that never fails to captivate visitors. On certain nights, such as Saturdays and national holidays, the Seto Ohashi Bridge is illuminated, offering a romantic night view that contrasts with the daytime. Whether you are on a family drive, a date with someone special, or want to quietly take in the view alone, it is a classic Okayama sightseeing spot that satisfies in any situation.
