ABOUT

About this spot

Aqua Totto Gifu in Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture, is known as one of the largest freshwater aquariums in the world. The four-story facility is organized so that you can learn as if traveling through freshwater habitats, from areas recreating the ecosystem of the local Kiso Three Rivers from upstream to downstream, to the Mekong and Amazon rivers of the world. Inside, you can watch impressive creatures such as giant Mekong catfish and arapaima up close, and also meet adorable animals such as capybaras and small-clawed otters. The tank exhibits faithfully recreate their natural habitats and are beautiful, offering a soothing time. As an all-weather indoor facility, it is also great for weekend outings whatever the weather. The adjacent Oasis Park offers plenty of dining and play areas, so it is a spot to enjoy all day long, whether you come with family, as a couple, or on your own to relax.
