ABOUT
About this spot
The Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design is a new cultural hub for Toyama, located in Fugan Canal Kansui Park, which boasts world-class scenery. Inside, in addition to works by the great masters of the 20th century such as Picasso, Chagall, and Dali, you can view a collection selected from a unique perspective, including posters from around the world and chairs of innovative design. The open, glass-walled architecture lets in natural light and makes it a space where your heart skips with every step. Particularly popular is the "Onomatopoeia Roof" spread across the rooftop. Lined with unique play equipment created by graphic designer Taku Satoh, it is not only a place where children can play freely, but on clear days it is also an ideal location with sweeping views of the majestic Tateyama Mountain Range. It is lit up at night and is also loved as a night view spot. Inside the museum are also cafes and restaurants where you can relax while enjoying art. It is a spot we hope you will visit for a quiet time alone to hone your sensibilities, or for a lively weekend outing with friends and family.
