ABOUT
About this spot
The Toyama Glass Art Museum is located in the redevelopment building "TOYAMA KIRARI" and is a spot whose charm lies in the original architectural design by world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma. The exterior combines granite, glass, and aluminum reminiscent of the Tateyama Mountain Range, while the interior features a warm atrium space made with plenty of locally grown Toyama cedar. The highlight of the exhibitions is the colorful and dynamic installation "Glass Art Garden" by Dale Chihuly, a master of contemporary glass art. The dreamy beauty woven by light and glass is breathtaking. The building also houses the Toyama City Public Library, a cafe, and a museum shop, so you can spend leisurely time reading between art viewing or looking for original goods. Whether it is a girls' trip with friends, a reward-to-yourself outing alone, or a date, it promises a fulfilling time in any situation. It is an art spot that stimulates your senses and is a must when visiting Toyama.
