Fugan Canal Kansui Park, within walking distance of Toyama Station, is a waterside oasis that makes use of a historic canal. Its wide lawns make it ideal for family picnics, strolls with friends, and relaxing time alone. The park's symbol, the "Tenmon Bridge," has an observation tower, and on clear days you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Tateyama mountain range. The Starbucks Coffee on the grounds drew attention as the "world's most beautiful store" after winning a top prize at the Store Design Awards, and the canal view from the terrace seats is exceptional. At night, the entire park is lit up and wrapped in a fantastical mood as light reflects off the water. Seasonal events and beautiful illuminations are also held, making it a very popular date spot. Taking the "Fugan Suijo Line" boat as it glides slowly along the Toyama canal lets you enjoy the scenery from the water as well. It is a soothing, classic spot you should visit when sightseeing in Toyama.
