ABOUT
About this spot
Tobu World Square, in Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture, is a theme park that faithfully recreates famous buildings and ruins from around the world at 1/25 scale. The park is divided into six zones: Modern Japan, America, Egypt, Europe, Asia, and Japan, and exhibits 102 structures including many World Heritage Sites. What stands out is the overwhelming fidelity of the replicas. From the Tokyo Skytree, which rises over 26 meters, to the Parthenon with its finely detailed carvings, the power rivals the real thing. Beyond the buildings, each of the 140,000 tiny figures placed throughout has its own rich expression and story, so there is also the pleasure of studying them closely. It is ideal for a weekend family trip or a date, and also for solo travelers who want to take photos that feel like traveling the world with a camera in hand. In winter, beautiful illuminations are held, offering the magical scenery of World Heritage Sites lit up at night. Being very close to Kinugawa Onsen, it makes a great main stop on a hot spring trip, so be sure to visit.
