ABOUT

About this spot

Opened in April 2023, Michi-no-Eki Joso is packed with the best of Ibaraki's culinary riches, making it a true "food theme park." The top draw is the sweet potato sweets made with Ibaraki's signature Beniharuka variety. A roasted sweet potato shop with long lines, cute soft serve ice cream, and candied sweet potato sticks (imo kenpi) that make perfect souvenirs will delight any sweet potato lover. Also not to be missed is Boku to Melon, a melon bread specialty shop that reflects Ibaraki's status as Japan's top melon producer. For lunch, we recommend Joso Inaho Shokudo, where you can also enjoy seafood dishes. The farm shop offers fresh vegetables from nearby farmers as well as plenty of original products you can't buy anywhere else. Right next to the Joso IC on the Ken-O Expressway, and with a TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE nearby, it is a destination to enjoy all day long, whether you are traveling with children, as a couple, or on your own.
