ABOUT
About this spot
Shiga Kogen Ski Resort, Nagano's pride, is one of Japan's largest snow resorts, bringing together 18 distinctive ski areas, large and small, across a vast region. Located at elevations from 1,300 m to 2,300 m, it captivates skiers and snowboarders from around the world with its overwhelming scale and dry, silky "platinum powder." With an all-mountain lift pass, you can move freely between all of these areas and enjoy so many courses that a single day is not nearly enough. The environment suits every level, from wide, gentle slopes ideal for beginners and families to the serious downhill courses that hosted events at the Nagano Olympics. While skiing, you may be treated to spectacular panoramas of the Northern Alps, beautiful rime ice, and sometimes a fantastic sea of clouds. After skiing, soaking in the historic famous waters of the Yudanaka-Shibu Onsen area at the foot of the mountain is another way to enjoy Shiga Kogen. Whether you face the snowy mountains alone or take on the vast courses with friends, the experience here turns into a special memory.
