ABOUT
About this spot
Nebuta Museum Wa Rasse is a cultural exchange facility themed on the "Aomori Nebuta Festival," the summer grand festival that Aomori City is proud of. With its great location, a short walk from JR Aomori Station, its exterior wrapped in distinctive red steel louvers catches the eye. The top highlight inside is the "Nebuta Hall," where large nebuta floats that actually marched in the festival are displayed. The huge floats rising out of the darkness are overwhelmingly powerful, and you can closely admire the craftsmanship worked into the smallest details. In the daily "ohayashi performance and haneto experience," you can jump along to the authentic rhythm, letting children and adults fully enjoy the festival mood. The history corner lets you learn about the origin and production process of nebuta, deepening your understanding of Aomori's culture. The building also houses a shop with Aomori souvenirs and a restaurant overlooking Mutsu Bay. It is a classic spot you cannot miss when sightseeing in Aomori, enjoyable in any travel style, whether making memories with family, sightseeing with friends, or exploring culture alone.
