ABOUT
About this spot
Naruto Park, a leading scenic area of Tokushima Prefecture, is a spot where you can enjoy the dynamic nature of the Naruto Strait with all five senses. The biggest highlight is the "Naruto whirlpools" created by the fierce tidal currents. On "Uzu no Michi," an over-sea walkway built inside the girder of the Ohnaruto Bridge, you get a thrilling experience of peering straight down on the whirlpools through a glass floor 45 meters high. The park has scattered viewpoints where you can see the Naruto Strait and the Ohnaruto Bridge, such as the "Senjojiki Observation Deck" and the "Ohnaruto Bridge Memorial Museum Eddy," which are ideal for commemorative photos against the backdrop of the beautiful multi-island Seto Inland Sea. The "Otsuka Museum of Art," boasting one of Japan's largest permanent exhibitions, is also adjacent, so you can enjoy nature and art together. It is a great location for weekend family trips and drives with friends, as well as for gazing at the scenery alone feeling the sea breeze. Nearby restaurants also let you enjoy fresh local fare, such as firm-fleshed "Naruto sea bream" and "Naruto wakame" raised in the Naruto rapids, so you can enjoy Tokushima's charm all day.
