ABOUT

About this spot

A signature sightseeing spot in Kyoto, this is the head shrine of the approximately 30,000 Inari shrines across Japan. The top highlight is the "Senbon Torii," where vivid vermilion torii gates continue endlessly. The contrast of light and shadow created by the gates is deeply fantastical, and simply walking through it cleanses your heart. Fushimi Inari Taisha has long been loved as a deity of business prosperity and family safety, and is now famous as a powerful power spot. The "Oyama Meguri," a loop around the whole of Mt. Inari behind the shrine, is also popular as a hiking course of about 2 hours round trip. If you climb to the "Yotsutsuji" according to your stamina, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the whole of Kyoto. It is satisfying for any purpose, whether a photogenic trip with friends, a family stroll, or a solo trip facing yourself. Along the approach there are many shops serving the famous inari sushi and kitsune udon, letting you enjoy Kyoto's atmosphere with all five senses.
