Tokushima Zoo, located within Tokushima Municipal Zoological and Botanical Park, is one of the largest zoos in Shikoku. The park is divided into areas such as the "Temperate Zone," "Tropical Zone," "Savanna Zone," and "Children's Zoo," where you can observe animals living in conditions close to their natural habitats. Particularly popular is the polar bear, which captivates visitors with its dynamic movements. You can also meet a wide variety of creatures, including adorable red pandas, easygoing capybaras, and imposing lions. During the keepers' "Mogumogu Time" (feeding time), you can enjoy watching the animals eat while learning in detail about their habits, stimulating the curiosity of adults and children alike. The spacious grounds have well-kept walking paths, making it ideal for a weekend family trip, a leisurely date, or a solo trip to recharge. With a picnic plaza as well, it is a classic Tokushima sightseeing spot you can enjoy all day.
