ABOUT
About this spot
Weaving through the islands of the Seto Inland Sea, the Seto Ohashi Bridge is one of the world's largest double-deck bridges, with a road and railway running side by side. The grand sight of consecutive bridges of various types, including suspension, cable-stayed, and truss bridges, is truly a work of art woven from the man-made and the natural. From Seto Ohashi Memorial Park, the base on the Kagawa side, you can feel its overwhelming scale up close. During the day, the white piers stand out beautifully against the blue sea, and at dusk the setting sun over the Seto Inland Sea bathes the bridge in gold. On certain Saturdays and holidays the bridge is also lit up, and the lines of light floating in the night sea are mystical, making it a very popular date spot. Families can enjoy the large playground equipment in the park and learning at the memorial hall, while friends and solo travelers will enjoy the 360-degree panoramic view from the rotating observation tower. It is a landmark symbolizing the gateway to Shikoku, enjoyable not only for the exhilarating drive across but also for gazing at.
