ABOUT

About this spot

Chichibugahama in Mitoyo City, Kagawa Prefecture, is a swimming beach with a long stretch of about 1 km. In recent years it has suddenly become famous as "Japan's Uyuni Salt Flat," because at low tide when the wind stops, tidal pools on the sand mirror the sky like a mirror. The "magic hour," when sunset and low tide coincide, is particularly beautiful, and the view of an orange-dyed sky spreading to your feet will leave you speechless. It is ideal for friends to strike poses for silhouette shots, or to spend a quiet time with someone special watching the sunset. The number of stylish cafes and shops in the area is growing, so you can also relax over a meal after enjoying the scenery. It is a place we recommend to everyone who wants to forget daily life and refresh, from families to couples to solo travelers.
