ABOUT

About this spot

The Aya Teruha Suspension Bridge in Aya Town, Miyazaki Prefecture, is a grand suspension bridge 142 meters high and 250 meters long, surrounded by one of Japan's largest evergreen broadleaf forests. Once the world's highest pedestrian suspension bridge, it continues to captivate many visitors as one of Miyazaki's leading scenic spots. Standing on the bridge, a deep green valley spreads beneath your feet, and you can see the ranges of the Kyushu mountains in the distance. The autumn foliage here is especially famous, when the whole mountain changes color. Beyond the bridge, a roughly 2 km nature trail winds through primeval forest, where you can enjoy forest bathing and soak in negative ions. It is ideal for family leisure, drives with friends, or a solo refreshing break. Please enjoy the extraordinary feeling of an aerial walk while appreciating the seasonal expressions created by nature.
