ABOUT
About this spot
Ioworld Kagoshima Aquarium is a spot where, against the backdrop of the majestic Sakurajima looming right before you, you can fully experience the charm of Kagoshima's sea. The main highlight is the "Kuroshio Large Tank," among the largest in Kyushu. The sight of whale sharks, the largest fish in the world, swimming leisurely is spectacular, and adults and children alike lose track of time watching. You can also observe rare creatures from Kagoshima's deep sea, such as the "Satsuma Haori-mushi," exhibited for the first time in the world. At the outdoor "Dolphin Waterway" connected to Kinko Bay (Kagoshima Bay), you can watch dolphins swimming freely for free, getting up close to training sessions and dynamic jumps. The building is an air-conditioned and heated indoor facility, so you can stay comfortably regardless of the weather. It is ideal for family trips as well as dates and healing time alone. On weekends there are plenty of events, including narrated "feeding time," making it a classic must-see in Kagoshima sightseeing.
